This 1973 Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most recognizable classic cars that the world has ever seen. Sold in the United States between 1950 and 1979, this wildly popular machine was an icon in the counterculture movement of the 1960’s and 1970’s, and remains today one of the most exciting imported cars from that era. This specific German-spec Beetle is a partial dune buggy conversion that has been extensively restored and modified from bumper to bumper. From the aftermarket halo LED headlights to the EMPI exhaust sticking out over the custom-fabricated back bumper, every feature about this car makes it almost entirely unique. The 1600cc engine was overhauled and rebuilt just over a year ago to produce higher output, and almost every panel of the car has been cosmetically enhanced to go along with it–though we do have almost all of the original lights, fenders, and parts from the engine, which will all come with the car. And with 14” Punisher alloy wheels, beefier suspension, and a disc brake conversion, there’s no doubt that this car will make for an excellent car on or off the road. Inside, the car has been retrofitted with caramel leather seats and paneling, an aftermarket radio, and a full speaker system to truly maximize the occupant experience, although it most definitely still drives like the 1970’s Beetle that it is.
