This 1991 Mazda MX-5 Miata is a fully-built and heavily modified racing machine! Extensively worked on by TrackDog Racing, this track car has been completely overhauled from bumper to bumper for top-notch track performance. The 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine under the hood is now equipped with a host of performance parts, including a high-flow Walbro fuel pump and lines, race-spec pulleys, performance headers, and an aftermarket cold air intake. This engine sends the power it generates through a short-shifting five-speed manual transmission to an aftermarket Torsen limited-slip differential for improved cornering and a ridiculous amount of tail-out fun. Moreover, our Miata has an aftermarket performance exhaust system that produces a fantastic note and improves the engine output at the same time, rounding out what can only be described as a fantastic track beast.
To us, what’s outside the car is just as important as what’s inside it, and this aggressive MX-5 is no exception. Given race-spec modifications both inside and out, this Miata looks as ready as can be for a day on the track. Sitting on 15” Rota alloy wheels fitted with Nitto track tires and painted in a bright Classic Red, this car is modified with a chassis-mounted carbon fiber rear wing, a full roll cage with Bride bucket seats and harnesses, and performance coilovers for improved cornering and a lower profile. The body also has wide fender flares and tow hooks for an even more racecar look, and the racing livery looks fantastic against the paint.
